Participants of the Vocal workshop
11 day long course that combines intensive conducting training, seminars, discussions ending in 2 Public performances with the Kyiv Municipal Academic Opera and Ballet Theater Orchestra.
Group and individual sessions daily with faculty and singers, participants of the Vocal Workshop, one-on-one conductor-singer pairing sessions and 6 ( fsix ) full symphony orchestra rehearsals ( no piano, quintet or sextet, not even one- per- part ensemble, but full symphony orchestra only! ), 2 dress rehearsals and the Participants' 2 Public concerts on ( TBD) - and (TBD) 2022.
The course will be held in English, secondary in German, Russian and Ukrainian and will take place in Kiev, Ukraine.
Only 11 conductors will be accepted to the program
All the participants will receive a video copy of their concert performances
Training Sessions, Rehearsals and Discussions
Active Participants choose repertoire, which they are required to study and prepare in advance. They will have up 2 hours ( 120 minutes ) of podium time with the orchestra. Each conducting session will be concluded with a discussion/seminar. Topics include baton technique, score study, interpretation and rehearsal technique, art of vocal coaching and conducting recitatives and arias with opera singers. Conductors will work with orchestral repertoire and on 2/3 arias or duets with singers. Several individual practice rooms with pianos will be available.
All the concerts will be video recorded. We encourage you to bring your recording devices and/or SD cards.
Auditors will attend all sessions and participate in all non-conducting activities

Concerts
As a part of the workshop, there will be 2 Public Concerts on the stage of the Saint Sophia Cathedral with the Kyiv Municipal Academic Opera and Ballet Theater Orchestra on August and August , 2022. Each Active participant is guaranteed to conduct at the concerts.

How to Apply
Submit an electronic application, a non-refundable $50 application fee to Pay Pal account: LSMUZIC@GMAIL.COM, a short resume and a short video recording of you conducting by May 15, 2022. Please submit your videos directly to LSMUZIC@GMAIL.COM in case of any problems uploading your video on the application form. Upon notification of acceptance, a tuition payment must be made by June 1, 2022. There is an option to pay a half of the tuition ( $1250.00 ) by June 1 and the other half ( $1250 ) on the day of registration in Kyiv, Ukraine. Auditors must pay full tuition by June 1, 2020
